Huth, Geof. mouseskein # 2: Being an accounting of the Travels & "Attendances" of Geof Huth from 10 Jul 2004 until 14 Jun 2005. A black Moleskine notebook, meant to be carried in one's pocke. An elastic band attached to the back cover allows me to hold the booklet closed, and the booklet includes a pocket for storing ephemera.

I used this booklet to record diary entries while I was away from home, to document the production of qbdp items (# 15 through 65), and to write notes at concerts, plays, movies and other events I attended.

Huth, Geof. mouseskein # 1. Covering from 21 Oct 2003 through 4 July 2004. A black Moleskine notebook, meant to be carried in one's pocket, and which is 80 pages in length. An elastic band attached to the back cover allows me to hold the booklet closed, and the booklet includes a pocket for storing ephemera.

I had intended to use this notebook to write down ideas for poems, both visual and textual but especially visual, but instead I used it to write notes at readings I attended and, later, to write brief diary entries while I was away from home. Most of the book consists of diary entries.

Description

This seems to me the most beautiful book of fidgetglyphs so far. A Fidgetbook has tall white pages that somehow capture all of its 90 fidgetglyphs beautifully.

Physical Description

A 8 X 5½ X ½ inch book witha cover of greige linen riveted to a spine covering of pliable brown suede, 196 pages of white paper with 216 pages (including the flypages). Most text written recto only. Places and dates of composition, titles and glyph numbers appear verso. Inside flypages signed "g.huth," and inside front covers decorated with gammadia (a V, an upside-down V, an X, a diamond). Includes a bastard title page, title page, preface, and afterword.

A 6¼ X 4½ X 1½ inch light-brown leather book with an attached ribbon as bookmark, off-white paper with 216 pages (excluding the flypages). Most text written recto only. Places and dates of composition, titles and glyph numbers appear verso. Inside flypages signed "g.huth," and inside front covers decorated with versions and names of the letter A in the front and versions and names of the letter Z in the back. Includes a bastard title page, title page, preface, and afterword, and a test page upon which I checked the inks I used in the rest of the book.

Another booklet of fidgetglyphs , The Second Book of Cells contains larger pages, allowing some of the fidgetglyphs a little more space to move. The book contains 78 fidgetglyphs.

A 6¾ X 5¼ X ¾ inch book, covered in beige cloth with a blue spine, white paper with 172 pages (including the loose flypages). Most text written recto only. Place and date of composition and glyph numbers appear verso. Inside covers signed "g.huth," and flypages decorated with the letters bdpq. Includes a bastard title page, title page, preface, and afterword.

Description

My first booklet of fidgetglyphs , The Book of Cells consists of small and almost square pages that are perfect for most fidgetglyphs. The book includes 80 fidgetglyphs and one fliptext (the latter entitled) "I/neverwhere."

A 4½ X 4¼ X 1 inch book, covered in black cloth decorated with colorful flowers and Asian-looking versions of demons, flecked beige paper with 176 pages (including the loose flypages). Most text written recto only, except for a small fliptext that grows from the back to the front of the book. Places and dates of composition and glyph numbers appear verso. Inside covers signed "g.huth," and flypages decorated with vowels in a quincunx pattern. Includes a bastard title page, title page, preface, and afterword. Signed on the last sheet "6307 8228."

Diary towards Timothy Huth

Huth, G. [Diary towards Timothy Huth]. Schenectady, New York: 7 Aug 1989-28 Oct 1989.

An artist's sketchbook, 80 pages (5½" X 8½" in size), transformed into a strange diary-cum-artist's-book. As the diary moves in time towards the birth of Timothy, I altered the pages more and more: adding drawings, cutting out holes, piercing the pages, etc. Soon after his birth, this book devolved into a totally boring recounting of my day's activities, and all the interesting visual constructions disappeared.

A few quotations from the book, found by my daughter, Erin Huth:

Nancy--to continue the theme--had no baby today. (From 15 August 1989, seventeen days before he actually was born.)

I rushed home, but Nancy was still pregnant with remorse (okay, child), and not even in labor. (From 17 August 1989, with fifteen days to go.)
